Oberhof Manor

The origins of the Oberhof date back to the Middle Ages. In the 16th century, the three-story stone building with a rectangular floor plan was constructed, forming the ancestral seat of the “Gilsa-Oberhof” branch of the von und zu Gilsa family. This family had previously divided into two main lines. An eastern oriel extension was added in 1723, and a northern extension towards the park side was later realized. A redesign in 1862 gave the exterior of the structure a Neo-Gothic character. Numerous armorial stones, including those from 1634 and 1652, as well as an undated stone commemorating Zeitlose von Kuhmann, adorn the facade.
