Oblatenkloster

The Oblate Monastery was established in 1928, with architectural plans by Moritz Gombert. Until the inauguration of the new parish church Maria Königin in 1959, the monastery functioned as a pastoral center and parish church for the local Catholic community. From 1995 onwards, only a single priest resided there. In 2011, the monastery was abandoned by the Oblate Order and has remained vacant since, as various proposed redevelopment plans have not yet materialized.

The monastery is situated in the Rotenbühl residential district of Saarbrücken, within the Saarbrücken regional association, a region in Saarland, Germany.

The L-shaped building incorporates a monastery church dedicated to Mary of Perpetual Help. The rectangular church interior features a central barrel vault that transitions into flat ceilings on the sides. The chancel is separated from the nave by a tall lancet arch. Low side aisles, also separated by pointed arches, flank both sides. A simple stone high altar remains, but other furnishings were sold after the monastery's closure. A modest, low bell tower adjoins the building. The building is currently vacant.
