Palais Bose
The Palais Bose, temporarily also called Prinz-Wilhelm-Palais or Wilhelmspalais, is a historic building at Johannisstraße 13 in the Neustadt of Dessau.
The late-classical building was constructed from 1800 to 1803 by Count von Bose, a chamberlain of Prince Franz. Other sources suggest construction began in 1796.
After being used as the Count's residence, the "Georgsbibliothek" (today in the "Anhaltische Landesbücherei Dessau"), and later the "Herzogliche öffentliche Bibliothek" were housed in the building.
After World War II, from 1950 to June 1959, the Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie was temporarily housed in the Palais Bose before moving to Georgium Castle. The now vacant building was used as the Pioneer House "Bruno Kühn" in the GDR.
Since 2003, after extensive renovation, it has been a senior residence of Avendi Senioren Service GmbH.
