History+

The origins of the Palais Dietrichstein date back to the third quarter of the 16th century when its core structure was built. The property was initially owned by the Counts of Herberstein, followed by the Counts of Galler. From 1635 to 1803, the Dietrichstein family shaped the palace and gave it its current name. It later passed into the possession of Franz Xaver von Fraidenegg and his heirs in 1827, before belonging to the Conrad family from 1879. A renovation took place in 1785 according to the designs of master builder Joseph Hueber.
