Erbdrostenhof Palace
In Münster, the Erbdrostenhof is an example of Baroque residential architecture. This noble palace was built in the 18th century and has a representative design, which creates an effect despite limited space.
History+
The Palais Erbdrostenhof was constructed between 1753 and 1757 according to the designs of Johann Conrad Schlaun. The client was Adolf Heidenreich Freiherr von Droste zu Vischering, the hereditary seneschal of Münster. The sculptural work was carried out by Johann Christoph Manskirch. After destruction in World War II, the building was reconstructed from 1953 to 1970. The original frescoes by Nikolaus Loder were also reconstructed by Paul Reckendorfer between 1965 and 1967.
