Kazianer Palace

The origins of the Palais trace back to 1497, when Georg Pockh sold his property to Christoph von Ratmannsdorf. The medieval structure was expanded and redesigned in the 16th century. A further renovation of the rear wing took place in 1669 under Albrecht von Ratmannsdorf. The Palais received its current Baroque character in 1742 through Count Alois Josef Kazianer, whose name it still bears today. The Kazianer family, elevated to the rank of count in 1665, owned the building until 1813 before it passed into the possession of the Counts of Goess. In 1910, the Leykam printing house acquired the Palais. After damage from bomb hits in November 1944, the destroyed parts of the building were reconstructed by 1950.

The Palais Kazianer is located in Stempfergasse in the Innere Stadt district of Graz, Styria, Austria, at an elevation of approximately 358 m above sea level.
