Kollonitsch Palace

The history of Palais Kollonitsch begins in 1641 when Count Otto Gottfried Kollonitsch, an imperial-royal regimental councilor and chamberlain, acquired an existing town house. This building, known as the “Judelhaus,” had previously been owned by Erhard von Polheim, a gift from King Maximilian I in 1496. Following Kollonitsch's acquisition, the original building was demolished, and the current palace was erected, with its construction year 1642 noted above the portal. It was established as a family entailed estate. Between 1772 and 1775, the palace was entrusted to Count Joseph Kottulinsky. A renovation began in 1780 and concluded in 1815 with a roof renewal.
