Palais Leininger Hof

The first documented mention of the Leininger Hof dates back to 1348. The early history of the property is difficult to trace due to the Mainz Diocesan Feud and a scarcity of sources. Around 1500, structural components were added to the basement, which are still preserved today. In 1568, ownership was attributed to the Walbrun family. Already in the 17th century, a part of the building temporarily served as a beer house. Around 1730, the window and door frames were renewed. In the mid-19th century, parts of the building were converted into a locksmith's workshop. In the 1920s, the Leininger Hof housed a cannery. Since 1978, the complex has been in private ownership.
