Lengheimb Palace

The construction of the Palais Lengheimb took place in 1577, commissioned by Adam von Lengheimb. The first documented mention of the building dates back to 1596. The Lengheimb family, originally from Carniola, established themselves in Styria and acquired several estates there. In 1732, Counts Andreas and Max Adam von Lengheimb sold the palace to the Jesuit College, which maintained a seminary in the adjacent buildings and added an extra floor to the Palais. Following the dissolution of the Jesuit order in Graz in 1773, the building became the property of the Imperial-Royal Court Chamber. In the 19th century, the Palais changed hands multiple times.
