In Glückstadt, Schleswig-Holstein, the Palais Quasi non Possidentes is a residence that now functions as a museum. The building, whose name alludes to an ambiguous inscription, features a blend of Renaissance and Baroque elements and is located near the former Glückstadt Castle.

History+

The palace was originally constructed between 1630 and 1631 in the Renaissance style. Around 1697, the building underwent a Baroque transformation. From 1700 to 1752, the palace served as the seat of the government chancellery, after the neighboring castle increasingly fell into disrepair. Subsequently, the chancellery's function was transferred to the Wasmer-Palais, and the building passed into private ownership. A restoration took place in 1986, and since 2000, it has housed an art association.
