The Stadioner Hof in Mainz is an aristocratic palace, considered an example of French Classicism in the region. Originally built for a Luxembourgish noble family, it later changed hands and was named after the Stadion family.

History+

Construction of the palace began in 1728 and was completed in 1733. Lothar Friedrich von Rollingen, Hereditary Marshal of the Duchy of Luxembourg, served as the patron. The design originated from Anselm Franz von Ritter zu Groenesteyn, a cavalier architect who established the French Neoclassical style in Mainz. In 1737, Anton Heinrich Friedrich von Stadion acquired the property, giving it its current name.
