In Heidelberg, the Palais Weimar is a historic city residence. Originally built for a city commander, it later served as an educational institution and now houses a school.

The construction of the Palais Weimar took place at the beginning of the 18th century under the direction of Johann Adam Breunig. It was designed as a city residence for the then city commander, General von Freudenberg-Mariotte. The building received its current name from Prince Wilhelm von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach, a later owner. In 1921, the Palais came into the possession of Victor Mordechai Goldschmidt and the von Portheim Foundation he established.
