Pelkoven Castle

In 1686, the brothers Maximilian and Veit Adam von Pelkoven (from 1687 Barons von Pelkoven) received the Hofmark rights and built the castle in 1690. From 1701 to 1722, after the death of Veit Adam, Maximilian became the sole owner of the Hofmark. In 1806, the Hofmark was dissolved, followed by frequent changes of ownership. From 1852, the castle was owned by Klemens Hilger and his wife Monika. From 1853 to 1880, the castle was used as an inn. In 1891, Josef and Maria Stoiber established a nursery around the castle. From 1839 to 1840, the castle was used as a school. In 1910, the municipality of Moosach bought the property. In 1913, the city of Munich became the owner of the castle through the incorporation of Moosach. From 1921 to 1926, Protestant children's and Sunday services took place in the castle. In 1926, the castle was converted into an apartment building. The castle garden was used as a nursery by Peter Schamberger. From 1955 to 1963, the castle was owned by Franz Heinzlmaier. From 1926 to 1960, the Niederbronner Sisters established a nursing station in the castle. In 1974, renovation work was carried out on the facade. From 2002, the castle underwent extensive renovation. On March 19, 2004, the cultural and community center in the castle was opened.
