Pencarrow

To be privately owned

Pencarrow is a Georgian-style manor and country house in the county of Cornwall, England. It has been the ancestral seat of the Molesworth-St Aubyn family for nearly 500 years.

History+

The origins of Pencarrow date back to the 16th century when John Molesworth entered the service of the Duchy of Cornwall. The current manor house was built between 1765 and 1771, designed by architect Robert Allanson for the 5th Baron Molesworth, replacing an older structure. The 5th Baron, Sir John Molesworth, was also a co-founder of the banking house Molesworth & Company, which later merged into Lloyds Bank.
