The Princely Palace was built around 1765 by the master builder Johann Joachim Busch as residences for chamberlains and nobles. From 1775, the house served as the residence of Hereditary Prince Friedrich Franz with his wife, and from 1810, of Hereditary Prince Friedrich Ludwig with his wife.
