The Quedlinburg City Palace, also known as Hagensches Freihaus, is a Renaissance city palace. It is located on the eastern edge of Quedlinburg's Old Town and is now a hotel, part of the city's UNESCO World Heritage site.

History+

The builder Christoph von Hagen had the palace constructed between 1564 and 1566. It features a Renaissance facade with volute gables, dormers, and a corner tower with a Welsch cap. Inside, original wooden ceilings and paneling with inlays are preserved. A special feature is the doors in the fireplace room, which were delivered directly from the Dresden Zwinger during construction. From 1633, the palace served as the residence of the chapter captain, who was granted permission to demolish part of the city wall.
