In Lorrha in Ireland's County Tipperary is Redwood Castle, also known as Egan Castle. This structure, after extensive renovation, is now restored.

History+

The origins of Redwood Castle date back to around 1200, when Anglo-Norman invaders erected the complex and held it until approximately 1350. At that point, the Egan clan took control of the region and thus of the castle. The Egans established a school here, maintaining its patronage for centuries. The structure underwent several expansions and alterations, particularly in 1350 and 1580, which shaped its thick stone walls and a Sheela Na Gig.
