Birkhof Manor (Korschenbroich)

The origins of Hof Byrke date back to the 13th century when it came into the possession of the Teutonic Order. In 1244, the couple Gisela and Sibert von Dülken donated Birkhof, along with 290 Morgen of land, as the foundation for a Neuss poor hospital, which was entrusted to the Teutonic Order in Elsen. Parts of the current building complex were erected in the 17th century. After 1814, the Weidenfeld family acquired the estate. The majority of the buildings still standing today were constructed in 1839 in the Neoclassical style.
