Manor House Böhlen+

Böhlen

A manor house in Böhlen is already mentioned in 1233 as being in the possession of Heinricus de Belen. In 1551, the manor house was referred to as a knight's estate. Owners included the von Zeschau family and the von Erdmannsdorff family. The manor house was built in the first half of the 18th century on the walls of a predecessor building. In 1923, ownership transferred to Otto Bunge, who was dispossessed and expelled by the communists in 1945. Thereafter, the house served as an orphanage until 1991.
