Bolzum Manor

The Bolzum Manor was a "noble seat". It included the village of Bolzum and had lower jurisdiction. The current complex dates back to Statius von Münchhausen at the end of the 16th century. The manor house dates from the first half of the 17th century. The manor grounds were once enclosed by a wall and a moat. It is still an impressive ensemble today.

The first lords of the manor were the de Bolthessem. They were followed by the von Haus and other noble families, including a Baron von Münchhausen. In 1769, Prince-Bishop Friedrich Wilhelm acquired the estate for the Prince-Bishopric of Hildesheim.
