From Vorwerk to Manor House
The existing Vorwerk in Ebersbach changed ownership in 1527 to Hans von Ponickau, who built a manor house in 1552. In 1546, the estate was elevated to a knight's estate. After this, ownership changed in 1587 to Elector Christian I of Saxony and in 1901 to Emil König and Moritz Hoppe. In 1904, a lightning strike destroyed the house, which was subsequently rebuilt. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.
