History+

The first documented mention of the locality Holzhausen occurred as early as 1020 under the name “Holthusun”. The manor house belonging to the village, known today as “Amthof”, first appeared in the annals in 1073, when it was owned by Count Otto von Northeim, who transferred it to the newly founded Hasungen Monastery. In the 17th century, Holzhausen was held as a monastic fief by Wedekind von Falkenberg.
