Kleincarsdorf Manor

The first documented mention of Kleincarsdorf dates back to 1216, when an Otto de Karlesdorf was associated with a manorial seat. The place originated as a Franconian settlement as part of the land development under the Margrave of Meissen. In 1378, Carlstorf was assigned to the castrum Dresden. The manorial lordship, which also included lower jurisdiction, belonged to the manor. In 1456, Mülich von Carlowitz was enfeoffed with the Niederhof zu Kreischa and the estates of Saida, Karsdorf, and Zscheckwitz by Duke Friedrich II. The von Carlowitz family held Kleincarsdorf until 1669, after which the owners of the manor changed frequently. In 1782, there was an inn and a forge there. The current manor house was built in 1786.
