History of the Manor House+

In the 15th century, the estate was owned by the von Mergenthal family. In 1477, Hans von Mergenthal sold his property to the von Römer family. In 1553, the estate was elevated to a knight's estate. In 1565, ownership transferred to the city of Zwickau. Subsequently, ownership passed to Lukas von Uthmann, in 1587 to Hildebrand von Creytz, in 1592 to the Electors of Saxony, and in 1605 to the Meyer family. From the mid-17th century, there were several changes of ownership until it passed into the possession of the Fischer family in 1839. Subsequently, ownership changed in 1881 to the Kästner family and from 1921 until the expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945 to Otto Schmelzer. Thereafter, the manor house served as a commercial enterprise and residential building.
