Möckern Manor

The estate was first mentioned in 1317. In the 18th century, the manor was owned by the Counts of Hohenthal. Other owners were the March family from 1804-1814, the bookseller Vogel from 1814-1818, the Bachmann family from 1833-1840, the Reimer family from 1843-1851 (construction of the current manor house), the Kayselitz family from 1853-1855, the Barons von Fuchs-Nordhoff from 1855-1895, and from 1895, Countess Schimmelmann. She was expropriated and expelled by the communists in 1945. During GDR times, the manor house was used as an orphanage. Today, the manor houses a training and research center.
