The Nothberger Hof in Eschweiler-Nothberg is a manor and estate house, whose origins are likely older than those of the nearby Nothberg Castle. Today, the complex serves as a private residential area, and the manor house is a protected monument.

History+

At the end of the 13th century, the Nothberger Hof was mentioned in the oldest directory of the Archdiocese of Cologne as Udelinberg, named after its then owner, Duke Udo of Limburg. The estate also bore names such as Meuthenshof, after the Meuthen family, and briefly Dahmenshof. A setback occurred on August 27, 1691, when the forecourt of the estate was completely burned down by a "French arson attack," including the stored crops.
