Rittergut Oberg, a manor and estate house, is located in the Oberg district of the municipality of Ilsede, in the Peine district of Lower Saxony.

History+

The first documented mention of Oberg occurred in 1152, when Bishop Bernhard I of Hildesheim transferred tithe rights to the Bokel monastery near Wilsche. A stone tower in Oberg was destroyed during the Herlingsberg War. The castle of the Lords of Oberg was destroyed around 1300 but rebuilt. In 1392, the castle was finally razed. Anna von Oberg, the last of her lineage, married Chief Huntsman Hermann von Kalm, who then erected a new manor house on the site of the former castle.
