Ophoven Manor (Leverkusen)

The manor house, built between the 12th and 13th centuries, initially belonged to the von Uphoven family. In the early 15th century, it passed to the von Hall family, who had a new castle wing built in 1452. In 1794, it went to Baron Theodor von Fürstenberg, and in 1957, it was owned by Baron von Lüninck. The city of Leverkusen, which owned the estate since 1975, had it restored between 1998 and 2002 and established the Center for Environmental Education with the interactive exhibition EnergieStadt for children and families there.
