Overdyck Manor

The history of the Overdyck estate is closely linked to the von der Recke-Volmarstein family. In 1819, the estate owner and district administrator Count Adalbert von der Recke-Volmarstein established an orphanage on the property, which later became known as the Overdyck Rescue Institution. A structure is the ice cellar, built around 1750, located in one of the outbuildings. Originally used for food storage and supplied with ice by damming the Marbach stream, it was converted into the Comital Overdyck Brewery by Count Adalbert in 1839.
