Pesterwitz Manor

The first mention of an outwork belonging to the Pesterwitz estate dates back to 1529. In the mid-17th century, specifically in 1649, 1650, and 1653, Christian Reichbrod von Schrenkendorf, private secretary to Elector Johann Georg I, acquired several estates in Pesterwitz and established himself as the lord of the manor. His descendants formed two lines, one of which, the Pesterwitz line, died out with Christian Ehrenreich Reichbrod von Schrenkendorf in 1735. His sister and sole heiress, Christiane Hedwig von Hohberg, held the manor until 1737, after which it passed to Imperial Count Heinrich von Brühl. In 1740, Friederica Sidonia von Nimptsch acquired the property. Under Günter Carl Albrecht von Nimptsch, the baroque small palace “Jochhöh” was built in 1794.
