Posteholz Manor

The origins of the estate date back to 1661, when Arnold Ludwig von Post, a privy councillor from Lippe, was enfeoffed with the property. A notable feature of that time was the construction of an elaborate stone slab fence in 1678, a measure that followed an order from Hanover to forgo wooden fences due to excessive logging. After the extinction of the von Post family between 1762 and 1764, the estate changed hands multiple times. In 1776, Jobst Gabriel von Wülfingen had the present manor house built and the associated garden laid out.
