To be privately owned

Rittergut Rittmarshausen is a manor and estate house in the municipality of Gleichen. Its architectural substance dates back to the 16th century.

History+

In 1707, the estate, after previously belonging to the Lords of Kerstlingerode and the Lords of Uslar-Gleichen, passed into the possession of Friedrich Wilhelm von Schlitz. He commissioned the construction of new buildings on the property. Between 1714 and 1716, the current castle was built, incorporating older structural elements from the 16th century. Until 1839, it served as the seat of the Noble Court of Garte and remains to this day in the possession of female descendants of the comital family von Schlitz genannt von Görtz und von Wrisberg.
