Rothnaußlitz Manor

The stately manor house in Rothnausslitz near Bischofswerda forms the head of a four-sided farmstead. The courtyard is adorned by a copper-roofed dovecote. An English park is attached. Before the manor house, a medieval moated castle already existed on the site. The manor house dates from 1771 and was built under Carl Christoph von Nostitz. A sandstone coat of arms at the entrance still points to this today. Johanna von Brescius had the manor house altered to its present appearance in 1828. In 1902, under the squire Paul Stein, the grand staircase on the courtyard side was renewed. This significantly shapes the exterior of the house. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After this, apartments and a library were housed in the building. Apartments are still located in the manor house today.
