Rüdigsdorf Manor

The first documented mention of Rüdigsdorf occurred in 1271 by Henry the Illustrious. Ownership of the estate changed hands frequently, including the von Rüdigsdorf, von Loß, von Lüttichau, and other noble families. A turning point was the purchase of the manor in 1810 by the publisher Siegfried Leberecht Crusius, who already owned the Rittergut Sahlis. The Crusius family influenced the estate for five generations until 1945. During this period, the manor house was rebuilt in a classical style, and from 1823, an English garden with an orangery was established.
