Sögeln Manor

The history of Rittergut Sögeln begins with a castle first documented in the 14th century. The current main house, a simple, two-story building with three wings, was constructed in the late 18th century. The oldest preserved part of the complex is the gate tower with loopholes on the ground floor, while the baroque spire with its clock dates from the 18th century. The estate frequently changed hands. In 1793, Friedrich Philipp von Hammerstein zu Equord acquired the property and initiated the reconstruction of the main house.
