Steinbüchel Manor (Leverkusen)

The first documented mention of a knight Konrad von Steinbüchel dates back to the year 1158. A chapel on the grounds was first mentioned in 1318. The current manor house of the Rittergut Steinbüchel was rebuilt in 1732 under Moritz von Droste-Senden. In 1806, the Duchy of Berg, to which the estate belonged, passed from the Kingdom of Bavaria into Napoleon's possession. Until a renovation in 1999, when the estate was converted into a residential complex with 26 units, the property was used for agriculture. The Keienburg family was the last tenant of the estate.
