Steinhof Manor

The first documented mention of Steinhof as a free knight's estate dates to 1454. Its central feature is a nearly square residential tower. The lower part of this tower was built in the late 12th century, the middle floor followed in the first half of the 13th century, and the second upper floor was added in the late 13th or 14th century. Ownership changed hands multiple times, including the St. Lambertus Abbey in Düsseldorf and the Counts of Spee, until the city of Duisburg acquired the property in 1949.
