Voldagsen Manor
Rittergut Voldagsen, a complex of buildings with a manor house and park, is located in Marienau, a district of Coppenbrügge in the Hameln-Pyrmont district. This estate is designed in the Neo-Renaissance style.
History+
The first documented mention of the Voldagsen estate as a fief of the Counts of Spiegelberg dates to around 1350. Until 1878, the manor was owned by the noble family Münchhausen. After World War II, from 1945 to 1955, the estate housed the Erwin-Bauer-Institute, a research facility of the former Kaiser Wilhelm Society. Subsequently, from 1956 to 1996, it served as a training center for the Federal Association for Self-Protection. Today, the entire ensemble, including the manor house, farm buildings, lake, and park, is a protected monument and privately owned.
