The Rittergut Wendessen dates back to 1660, when the estate was built. In 1736, it attained the status of a princely chamber estate. A change in ownership occurred in 1864, when the estate passed from Amtsrat Müller to a branch of the Seeliger family. This family remained in possession of the property until 2001.
