The history of the Wildenrath Manor House begins in 1251, when the Duke of Jülich acquired the Dyck Manor. Towards the end of the 14th century, the Dukes of Jülich granted the estate in hereditary lease to the noble lords of Wildenrath. This family gave the property its name, and the Jülich lion in the estate's coat of arms still commemorates this historical connection.
