A manor house in Wurgwitz is mentioned as early as the 13th century. In 1651, the von Schleinitz family sold the property to Christian Freiherr von Schrenkendorf, the Privy Secretary at the Electoral Court in Dresden. This family also owned Klingenberg and managed both estates together.
