Rodensteiner Hof Manor

It is believed that a residential building already existed on this site around 1570, which later came into the possession of the Lords of Rodenstein. After the extinction of this noble family in 1671, the property changed hands multiple times, including the families von Haxthausen and von Schleiffras, before being sold in 1705 to Lieutenant General Johann Rudolf von Pretlack. Von Pretlack remained in Bensheim until 1733, after which Franz Caspar von Überbruck und Rodenstein acquired the estate. Under his or Pretlack's patronage, a seven-axis main building likely emerged on today's Darmstädter Straße by 1739, incorporating older building fabric. From 1742, Überbruck's son Johann Heinrich Adam had the building extended to the south and east. In the late 19th century, particularly in 1883, further alterations took place, including the construction of a tower.
