The remains of the roman town can be visited

The Roman City of Burnum Theater is part of the once significant Roman city of Burnum. It is located in the Croatian region of Jadranska Hrvatska, specifically in the Šibenik-Knin County, near the town of Kistanje. As part of a former legionary camp and later a city, it offers insights into the Roman presence in this region.

History+

The origins of Burnum are dated to 33 BC, although a foundation a few decades later is considered more likely. Its strategic location on the Krka River made it an important control point for traffic. Several Roman legions were stationed here successively, including Legio XX Valeria Victrix at the beginning of the Pannonian Uprising (AD 6–9).
