The roman Bath can be visited

The Roman Baths of Hüfingen are located in Hüfingen in the Schwarzwald-Baar district of Baden-Württemberg. As part of the former Roman frontier fort Brigobannis on the Raetian Limes, they are now accessible to visitors.

History+

The baths were an integral part of the Roman fort Brigobannis, which was established in early Claudian times between 41 and 45 AD. The fort, situated on the “Galgenberg,” served as an important hub for Roman roads. The baths themselves were likely built around 70 AD during the early Flavian period. They were not only reserved for soldiers but also available to the civilian population of the Vicus, the civilian settlement. After the garrison withdrew, the baths continued to be used by the inhabitants.
