The Roman Villa Brederis in Vorarlberg, Austria, was built as an agricultural estate in the 1st century AD.
History+
In the first century AD, a Roman estate was established on an alluvial cone of the Frutz, in the Bresner Weitried. This estate consisted of several buildings. As early as 1954, remains of a building with an apse and underfloor heating were discovered. Between 2002 and 2007, archaeologists from the Federal Monuments Office uncovered further structures, including the former main house of the complex and a Roman bathhouse. Regular portrayals of Roman daily life by members of the "Legio XXI Rapax" and Germanic peoples bring antiquity to life here.
