Roman Villa Rustica

As early as 1830, the first Roman antiquities were discovered at this site. Systematic excavations took place between 1911 and 1916, providing insights into the structure of the estate. The Villa Rustica was surrounded by a wall approximately 400 meters long and had an irregular rectangular shape. Within the walled area, nine buildings were uncovered, which were probably not all in use simultaneously, while aerial photographs reveal two more structures. In the north was the actual villa with heated rooms and a cellar.
