The Roman Villa Zimmerhof, once an estate, is located near Bad Rappenau-Zimmerhof in the Heilbronn district.
History+
The estate, known as a Villa Rustica, was likely constructed in the second half of the second or early third century AD. The remains of the main building were only discovered in 1971. To preserve the findings from a planned land consolidation, the Baden-Württemberg State Monuments Office conducted a full excavation in 1972. Subsequently, the city of Bad Rappenau and the Sinsheim Land Consolidation Office decided to restore the site and preserve it.

Today, visitors can explore the restored remains of the Roman villa. The site is freely accessible, offering a direct view of the former foundation walls of the main building, which have been partially supplemented and give an impression of the estate's original structure.
