The roman Temple can be visited

The Roman Temple, also known as Templum Iunonis, is a central component of the Roman settlement of Cambodunum in Kempten.

History+

The Roman settlement of Cambodunum, where the temple is situated, was one of the most important Roman cities in the province of Raetia during the early and high imperial periods. It is considered one of Germany's oldest cities. The temple was part of a Gallo-Roman temple district, located in the northwest of the city, near the steep slope to the Iller river. This district was excavated starting in 1937/38 and possibly served as a central sanctuary for the city.
