Old Castle (Ruin) (Dreis-Tiefenbach)

The Alte Burg is a former castle complex on a mountain spur above the Sieg in the village of Dreis-Tiefenbach near Netphen, North Rhine-Westphalia. It may date back to a Frankish ringfort. In 1910, an inn was built on the site. Excavations took place in 1929.
The former small castle complex featured a 20 by 10 meter main castle, a 20 by 40 meter bailey, and a keep on a base area of 11 by 7.8 meters with a wall thickness of 1.8 meters, as well as a well in the northeast corner.
