Anwil Castle (Ruin) (Buhwil)
The origin of the complex is hidden in the mists of history. The tower was probably built at the end of the 13th century. Acquired in 1387 by Ulrich von Sax zu Bürglen. Destroyed by the Appenzellers in 1406, then rebuilt. Acquired in 1608 by Laurenz Kunkler. In 1647, the castle came into the possession of the city of St. Gallen. In 1852, the round stair tower was demolished, which led to the decay of the rest of the complex.
